Astragy explained

The Astragy Intelligence Platform is a 'Software as a Service solution’. Astragy is hosted in the cloud by our proud cloud provider Terremark (Dutch article DBM).

Astragy is created with standard technology and always offers the possibility of insourcing when you decide to continue independently (read more on implementation and integration variants).

The platform consists roughly of three parts:

1. The interfaces to the source systems make the data available that serves as a basis for fulfilling your information needs.
2. The Enterprise Memory: Our unique data warehouse architecture!
3. The information portal provides universal access to reports and analysis cubes via a standard web browser. The core of the Astragy Intelligence Platform consists of a data warehouse in which essentially all detailed information relevant to the operations is stored and preserved. Our unique proposition is to create a special variant of a data warehouse called the Enterprise Memory. In the Enterprise Memory all facts are stored 'as is' meaning no source data is lost. We start with "one version of the facts'. Then within a specific business context data marts and reports are created for specific groups of users.
   There are two major advantages of an Enterprise Memory as compared to a more traditional data warehouse approach.

• Any specified user can create his own truth without doing violence to the original facts.
• Context changes over time can seamlessly be redefined.

This means that for example in case of a merger with or acquisition of another company, the business rules and entity definitions of an historic fact may change. This change in business context does however not affect the recorded history because the new context is being rebuilt from the source.
One of the biggest challenges in developing a robust information service, namely the future-proof recording and storing of historical data, is thus skillfully overcome.
